On November 14, 2019, GoFundMe held it’s first ever “Heroes Celebration”, honoring GoFundMe fundraisers who were nominated by the voting public as “changemakers” in their respective communities.

Among those honored was our very own Howard Cato, founder of Bay Area BMXers, for his success with Flood the Streets with Bikes.

Honorees were recognized as fundraisers who have turned their compassion into action, driving the change they want to see and rallying others to contribute and get involved. For those of us who are lucky enough to know Howard, it’s easy to see why he stood out from the crowd!

Guests who attended the event in San Francisco were treated to stories from each nominee, hearing about their causes and impact on the lives of others, as well as a special keynote address. There was food, beverages and interactive exhibits to inspire and celebrate kindness.

Bay Area BMXers is proud of Howard and what he’s done for the lives of riders young and old, as well as what he’s accomplished for the sport of BMX racing. Congratulations to him and the entire B.A.B. family!
