A Summer to Remember!
This year’s Bike Camp at Santa Clara PAL BMX delivered two full weeks of growth, grit, and grins. From the first gate drop on day one to the final laps of week two, campers of every age and skill level found their groove on the track.
One of the standout stories of 2026 was just how many brand-new riders joined the fun. A wave of four-year-olds rolled through the gates this summer, many throwing a leg over a BMX bike for the very first time. Watching them go from wobbly starts to confident pedal strokes over just a few days was a reminder of why this camp exists in the first place: to open the door to the sport for the next generation of riders.
Of course, the youngest campers weren’t the only ones putting in work. Riders of all ages—from first-timers to seasoned track regulars—spent their mornings on warm-ups and skills drills before moving into track time, practicing starts, cornering, and jumps at their own pace. Coaches kept the energy high and the environment safe, making sure every rider, no matter their age or experience, left each session a little more confident than they started.
That mix of first-timers and returning riders created a special dynamic on the track this summer. Older campers cheered on the little ones clearing their first jump, and newcomers fed off the excitement of watching more experienced riders rip around the course. By the end of each week, the track was full of high-fives, proud parents, and kids already asking when they could come back.
As always, campers suited up in their authentic 510 Bay Area BMXers jerseys—a small piece of gear that carries a lot of meaning by the end of camp. For the youngest riders especially, pulling on that jersey for the first time marked the start of what could be a lifelong love of BMX.
With two full weeks in the books and a fresh crop of young riders now hooked on the sport, this year’s Bike Camp was a true success. We can’t wait to see these campers back on the track next summer—jerseys a little more broken in, and confidence a lot higher.
